First, you should not feed your pets treats without cutting back appropriately on their daily portion of their meals. For example, if your dog’s recommended daily portion of food is 3 cups, and your dog is given approximately ½ cup’s worth of treats, be sure to feed your dog only 2 ½ cups that day! Treats are a nutritious way to keep your pets happy, but we do not want them becoming overweight.
Some treats are not appropriate for all pets. If you have any questions or concerns about any recipes or treats, please consult your veterinarian before giving them to your pets. If your pet seems to have an adverse reaction to a treat or recipe, call or visit your veterinarian immediately.
Be to store your pet’s treats appropriately!! When in doubt, stick them in the fridge or freezer.
